About Us
The People
We are a group of three couples who are desiring and striving to live our lives in such a way as to bring glory to God
Because of the life circumstances that were handed to them, Danny and Joy, in September of 2018, found themselves on an empty piece of property in Baja, México. After much soul searching and prayer, they, with their friends and fellow partners Mark and Angelica, started a 501c3 called “Walk the Narrow Road”. The property was given the name Narrow Road Ranch.
Danny and Joy both grew up overseas as missionary kids. They have served in Baja, México since 2005 doing mostly house-building ministry. Their two kids who were 5 and 7 when they moved to México are now adults.
Mark and Angelica live in southern California. They have run their own construction business for over 30 years and have been involved in various church and missions ministries for many years. They have 3 adult children.
Steve and Sara served as missionaries in Baja from 2008-2012. After 9 years back in the states they returned to Baja in 2021 to help love the people of México and to use their talents at the Narrow Road Ranch. They have three adult children and 5 grandchildren.
The Ranch
The ranch was purchased in two parcels. Parcel #1 is 15 acres and it is where all the building, projects, living, etc. are at this time. Parcel #2 is an additional 25 acres of uncleared land where hopefully someday more of the activity will take place.
The Ministry
We do not really like being called a ministry. We see it as a living life on a daily basis attempting to carry out the two greatest commandments:
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
The question then is, how do we do this?
The Vision
The vision for Narrow Road Ranch at this time includes:
Providing opportunities; a place to learn various hands-on trades and skills, along with apprenticeships.
Encouraging service to others in the surrounding communities.
Providing a place for travelers to stop-over and regroup.
Providing a place where people can separate from the world; a quiet place to rest and be restored.
Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God in its entirety and is without error; it is infallible, entirely trustworthy and the ultimate authority in all matters of life.
WE BELIEVE in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, existing eternally in three distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth and sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death on the cross for us, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His work as a mediator and His imminent return to power and glory.
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work boldly for the Lord Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE that all humanity is born with a sinful nature and is therefore lost and can only be saved by a personal faith in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and not by any human merit or performance.
WE BELIEVE all people will rise from the dead – those who are in Christ to enjoy eternal life with God and those who are lost to suffer eternal separation from Him.
WE BELIEVE in the church as the body of Jesus Christ, bound together by the Holy Spirit and consisting of those who are born again.
WE BELIEVE that the ministry of evangelism and discipleship are the responsibility of all followers of Jesus… this includes the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-19) to go into all the world to be His witnesses and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching those who believe.
We take our Statement of Faith seriously. We do not want it to be something we just say we believe, we want it to reflect who we are – Jesus living through us. We desire to walk with Christ daily and are willing to lay down our lives for Him because of the great sacrifice that He gave us. This is who we strive to be – sold out for Jesus.
